I was just wondering. In Speed, the speedometer cannot drop below 55 or some such hooey, right? Well, couldn't they have just busted the face of the speedometer and held the damned hand on 60, pulled over and let everyone off? I know that movie would suck, but still, I was wondering. I might go camping in some Redwoods park this weekend that Dan found 20 minutes North of Santa Rosa. Sounds like a beautiful thing. I can buy soy dogs to roast at a campfire with my food stamps (my damned EBT pin didn't work yesterday for some backasswards reason, so maybe I won't). Next week, if I can get off T-F at work, I am a headin' down to SoCal. I deserve to get it off damnit. I haven't missed a day yet and I have constantly gone above and beyond my expectations, plus everyone else in 1st/2nd has taken what seems like weeks off. Julia and Kate in Venice Beach and muh Inland Empire crew will be glad to see me, me hopes. 909 represent! Hahahahaha.

I got a call from the volunteer lady at Planet Bluegrass the other day and she says that I have a volunteer spot at this year's Telluride Bluegrass Festival. I am wicked psyched!! $15 app processing fee and I will work 4 4-hour shifts for a $170 4-day pass. Damn, am I thrifty or what? Guess who will be there? Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Nickel Creek (I am in love with the fiddle player), Mary Chapin Carpenter, Yonder Mountain String Band, the Waifs, Sam Bush and many more. Yummy, soulful bluegrass to cool my fields and electrify my boogey woogey. Ben Harper, Cake, Lucinda Williams, Leftover Salmon and the Del McCoury Band played there last year. Hopefully some of them will return.

I just started reading "Twelve" by uber-young Nick McDonell and it is fantastic so far. I was drawn to it by Hunter S Thompson praising it on the book sleeve. Book sleeves; something I cannot stand.
